Rathakatha Anukula Puja
11 February 2027 · Rathakatha Anukula Puja is an auspicious inaugural worship marking the formal beginning of devotional recitations and community preparations associated with Lord Jagannatha's divine chariot and the sacred Ratha Jatra journey. It is an occasion for devotees to gather in prayerful community, invoke divine grace, and surrender the entire sacred endeavour into the hands of Mahaprabhu himself. This observance beautifully begins the community's journey toward the great festival, building devotional momentum and inviting the Lord's guiding grace from the very start.
About This Event
Festival overview
Vasant Panchami (Saraswati Puja) is celebrated on the fifth day of Magha — the first day of spring. Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, wisdom, music, and the arts, is worshipped with yellow flowers, books, musical instruments, and special offerings. Students and artists seek her blessings for learning and creative ability. Yellow — the colour of mustard flowers in full bloom — is the colour of the day.
Ratha Katha Anukula is an auspicious ceremony associated with the planning and storytelling of the upcoming Ratha Jatra cycle — prayers and rituals seeking divine sanction for the chariot festival preparations to begin.
